Dux Studio for iPad Pro 11" 4th/3rd/2nd/1st gen

I gave it 3 stars because
1. The plastic covering the speakers are flexible and not firm. So when you are using portrait lay or sideways, once you grab it from the side it slips open.
2. There is an opening on the top where the apple pen goes which is to easily grab the apple pen but because it’s not fully covered, if dropped at that angle it will impact your pen and if your pen isn’t there it’s a wide shot to your tablet. That area without the pen is not protected with any thing
3. There’s really only 2 ways to fold this, typing…. Which when you type away like just the little bit I am doing now it leans forward a bit and folds flat loosing your 1inch lift. The second way is the typical sideway video view but it sits too high. So if I’m leaning back watching a video then decide I need to write something on my notes on the side it’s a pain on the wrist because of the angle.

I have not dropped this so can’t rate that but the corners are firm which is what they promote on their video with the corner drop examples. Like I said before the part where the speakers are are not firm I definitely would not recommend it. I purchase this brand because it was recommended by Apple so thought it’d be a solid buy. I tried comparing with other Amazon and Best Buy’s OTTERBOX which is more for construction and the Amazon items have strong magnets to attach to a fridge for videos while cooking. Which I felt skeptical about since I figured it might damaged the magnetic items in my iPad.

By all means I’m not a product developer or system engineer. This is my opinion of the product based of my needs and preferences.

The body of the case is great. However, opening the magnetic flap is a pain. Something needs to be done to improve that. Besides that it’s a great case for the iPad 12.9.

STM asked me to review elsewhere - I have bought STM cases in the past and in the main I’ve been happy. I just bought this case and IMO it’s very badly designed. The closing flap which doubles as the prop is supposed to engage into 2 hooks, it does by just catching by about 1/2mm, in time it’ll either break or not engage. If you’re trying to use hand held then there’s nowhere to store the flap, and it just flaps around. My recommendation is to avoid but if you’re curious then buy but don’t remove the protective films & use it for 1/2hr then you’ll see it is poor at best then you can return it.

Body of case is good, the flap is awful and it just about engages into the hooks. Longevity doubtful. AVOID! I certainly will think twice about buying STM again.
